The Department of Special Investigation has opted not to indict ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his former wife Potjaman na Pombejra for their past concealment of Shin Corp shares......Tharit Pengdit was DSI director-general, he said about the department wouldn’t charge Thaksin and Khunying Potjaman for failing to announce their shareholdings in Shin Corp as was requested by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). After that, the SEC talks with the DSI to charge the pair with share hiding after the Supreme Court found they had held Shin Corp shares secretly through family members and Ample Rich Co. This formed part of the court's ruling in February to seize properties about 47 billion baht belonging to the Shinawatra family. Next Mr Tharit said the DSI wouldn’t press charges against the former couple for failing to announce their shareholdings because the number of shares they held, albeit via nominees, had neither increased nor decreased. Then the resolve not to charge Thaksin and Khunying Potjaman wasn’t associated to another allegation by the SEC that the two had failed to conduct a tender offer, which is a public invitation to the company's shareholders to buy their shares, usually at an attractive premium above the present market price, despite the fact that they held more than a 25% stake in Shin Corp.
......In my opinion this news is interesting because many people have argument about Shin Corp that DSI finds many evidences to help charge Thaksin and Khunying Potjaman for failing to announce their shareholdings in Shin Corp as was requested by the SEC. Then CSI charge that the Supreme Court found share hiding in family members. So the properties about 47 billion baht belong to the Shinawatra family. Then it made the Shinawatra family isn’t charge about against the former couple for failing to announce their shareholdings because the number of shares they held, albeit via nominees, had neither increased nor decreased. Everything will show you after have to find really proof, you shouldn’t believe everything but you should use your opinions.
