PM extends free rides for the poor

Cabinet may introduce permanent fare waiver

.......Cabinet finds the way to look for permanently waive the fares on some buses and trains to help to ease the financial burden in Bangkok. Because low-income earners have a problem about finance. The project was raised June 30,2010 at a meeting of the cabinet. So it was agreed to extend free public bus and rail travel and waive electricity bills about six months for the poor, which this project was due to end July 1,2010. The government gives subsidies for vehicles with cooking gas and natural gas, which are scheduled to end for plans in this August.

Next, the government provides free electricity to households which use less than 90 units a month. After that the government gives free rides on 800 Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) buses operating on 73 routes in Bangkok. The government assesses the subsidies for six months is expected to cost the taxpayer 9.25 billion baht in lost electricity charges, 1.26 billion baht in lost bus fares and 530 million baht in lost rail income.

.......I like this news because it is very amazing and also gladsome. I think cabinet may introduce permanent fare waiver is very important for low-income earners and the poor. ฺำBecause in today, the economy is depression that made many people give out of work. Somebody has decreased salary and position. Then the government give three important method to help population that firstly, giving to subsidies cooking gas and natural gas. Secondly, having free public bus. Lastly, waiving electricity bills. Schedule of this programme started, that this project about six month to give subsidies. Waiving electricity bills is good because if household use less than 90 units a month, they must pay electricity bills. So household will save energy that it made electricity bills of country decrease too. Having free public bus is well because many people will move to take a bus instead of taxi, etc. Giving subsidies cooking gas and natural gas is also good because cost of cooking gas and natural gas increase too fast. Then population has low-income earners that they can't contest with high price. But the govrenment is helping to give subsidies until this August. I hope the government will give subsidy in next time.

Bangkok voted world's best city

.......Bangkok has been voted the world's best city, followed by Chiang Mai, in the magazine Travel + Leisure's 2010 World's Best Awards readers survey.

Bangkok was lucky because the survey was proceeded before the red shirt rallied and ensured military action in May ago. In 2008, Bangkok received ranking the No 1 spot. After that now, Bangkok returns to No 1 again. So the capital got ranking third last year and Chiang Mai was fifth. A questionnaire wrote by editors of Travel
and Leisure in ROI Research Inc and then they were made useful to readers from Dec 15,2009 to March 31,2010. And Florence in Italy, San Miguel de Allende in Mexico and Rome, Italy were the other cities that made up the top five. A good news is Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra said that he will go to New York next week to receive the award. And he said he is pleased with the award and it shows that Bangkok's popularity among tourists worldwide remains evident well. Lastly MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra said the formality for which will be held next Wednesday. " It must be noted the survey was completed in March when the political situation and the red shirt protest were not yet critical "

.......I think about this news that this is a good news made me so happy. Bangkok voted world's best city was both travel and transportation about comfortable and appealing. Although transportation in Bangkok sometime caught up in traffic jams, It has many ways to choose and respond such as BTS skytrain, MRT subway, Tuk Tuk, etc. It helps you decrease time too much because it does not have traffic jams. You just wait a few minute for take it and It is useful with everybody for travel or transportation in routine. Many people like to take it, when they go to school, university, office or travel. So I like too. When I am hurry, I always take BTS skytrain and MRT subway. Because It uses abiut 10-20 minute. It is significant for travel and specofoc transportation. Then Bangkok received the award. and I hope transportation in bangkok will improve and increase station. So I believe that bangkok will livable about transportation and travel.

Revealing the secrets of the universe

Rolex supports major, new permanent exhibition at CERN in Switzerland. CERN, in Switzerland, the leading centre for research into fundamental physics using a particle accelerator known as the Large Hadron Collider, has just inaugurated a new, permanent exhibition, ''Universe of Particles'', sponsored by Rolex. The exhibition is spread over a space of 450-square metres in the spectacular Globe of Science and Innovation at CERN. A sphere 40 metres in diameter made entirely of wood, the Globe is the tallest timber-domed structure in the world. The ''Universe of Particles'' explores the fascinating universe of particles, from the infinitely tiny to the infinitely huge, from the Big Bang to the present day. Using state-of-the-art digital technology and interactive displays, the exhibition, open to visitors of all ages free of charge, is designed by the award-winning German designers, Atelier Bruckner. Among their numerous projects is the permanent exhibition at the BMW Museum in Munich, IBM China's Magic Box at Expo Shanghai 2010 and the Wall of Africa at Expo 08 Zaragoza.

''It's vital for us to reach out to society and explain our research aims and the associated spinoffs,'' said CERN director-general Rolf Heuer. ''This visitor centre, built with the generous support of Rolex, is an essential part of our outreach and education strategy.''

''At Rolex, we believe in the importance of supporting excellence in research and high-level creative endeavours,'' said Bruno Meier, CEO of Rolex SA. ''We are proud, as part of our corporate philanthropy, to play a part in supporting the extraordinary work of CERN and bringing it to a wider public both in Switzerland and around the world.'' Designed by Herve Dessimoz of Group H Architects in Geneva, and wood engineer Thomas Buchi of Charpente Concept, the Globe of Science and Innovation was the centrepiece of the Expo.02 Exhibition in Neuchatel, Switzerland, in 2002. With funding from the Swiss Confederation, it was reassembled at CERN to provide a new beacon for the organisation. The Globe has taken timber construction to a new level. The outer shell, re sembling a finely spun cocoon, is designed to protect the building from the sun and the elements. The inner ball, whose frame is made up of 18 cylindrical wooden arcs, covered with wooden panels, creates a magnificent cathedral-like space with two spiral ramps for visitors winding their way up between the outer and inner shells.

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Its business is fundamental physics, finding out what the universe is made of and how it works. At CERN, the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments are used to study the basic constituents of matter the fundamental particles. By studying what happens when these particles collide, physicists learn about the laws of Nature.

I think this news is very important for education and learning by self. So CERN has benefit for students too much. And CERN has high-technology to research and study about science , so I think science is significant to improve and develop environment and economic to be better. And I like this news , because it is amazing and catchy.

School heads lack English, ICT skills

Poor survey showing surprises authorities

.......The Office of the Basic Education Commission in Thailand says , many school executives lack skills in English , information and communications technology of education in Thailand. The office asked Srinakharinwirot University , that this year will test the abilities of about 40,000 school directors and deputy directors. So they were tested for manager knowledge, leadership and abilities in English and information and communications technology (ICT). Although the school executives were fair at administration and leadership but were found lacking at English and ICT, the tests found. Next , commission deputy secretary-general Saneh Khaoto said, "Many school executives are poor at English and technology"and "The office did not expect this, because most school executives have master's degrees."

The government has set funds for stimulation and use funds to improve the quality of school executives and teachers. Although the commission has not prepared a budget for courses to improve English or technology application skills this year. Mr Saneh said Obec planned to improve school executive in this year by spend 560 million baht. Which it has employed Chulalongkorn University's education faculty to improve and develop programs. So next year it will improve English and technology application skills with the same faculty to develop training courses. Obec will give 9,000 baht to each school for training, travel and residence.Five or six training centres will be opened. Obec has spent 678 million baht on the tests. It will teachers into three categories based on their ability. In highest category will train leading teachers under a 201 million baht and another 500 million baht will spent on promoting. Wach teacher who participates training will receive 1,000 baht a day over five to 15 days.

.......I think if school heads in Thailand have skills in English , information and communications technology , they will apply to teach or control students. Knowledge of teacher about English and ICT skills are very useful and important. So school heads can make students to develop and improve. Because English and ICT are important factor in the present and the future too.

Serena sidelined by broken glass

......World number one Serena Williams, pictured on July 12. She will miss three hardcourt tournaments in the build-up to her US Open. She suffering at her foot. She has injury caused by stepping on broken glass at a restaurant. So it made her will miss the WTA Tour events in Istanbul, Cincinnati, and Montreal while she undergoes surgery to repair the damage to her right foot.

"I'm so upset I won't be able to play in the upcoming events because of this foot surgery. Thank you for all of your support. I can't wait to get back on the courts," Williams said in a statement.

Just two weeks ago, the 28-year-old American cruised to a fourth women's singles title at Wimbledon with a crushing 6-3, 6-2 victory over Russia's Vera Zvonareva. It was her 13th Grand Slam crown. The US Open, which Williams won in 1999, 2002 and 2008, gets under way on August 30 in New York, just a week after the Montreal event finishes. In between, there is just one WTA tournament, the low-key event at New Haven, before the season's final Grand Slam begins.Williams has played in just six tournaments this season, with three of those appearances coming in the majors at the Australian and French Opens as well as Wimbledon.

......I think this news is very bad for Serena Williams. I feel regret with her. She will miss the WTA Tour events in Istanbul, Cincinnati, and Montreal because she injure at her right foot from broken glass. In my opinion , she is an American professional tennis player. She is currently ranked World No. 1 in both singles and double. So she should careful too much because body and health are very important things of sport players.

Opening The Mind Of Education

......A new idea is the product of both "creativity" and "critical thinking". The two concepts are opening the mind of education

''creativity" and "critical thinking" are very important of education in present. Which is made available by appropriately using skills to developing new ideas or new opinion. If everybody brings to combination of two things for change. Then teachers need to think of ways for start the freedom to explore and preparing them. So thinking skills that enable the creation of innovative ideas, solutions and products for present and future use.

Firstly , The expert on creativity , Roger van Oech wrote in his book on the creative process , A Kick in the Seat of the Pants , states that "the hallmark of creative people is their mental flexibility". So all children are creative at the start of their lives. Thinking is stimulus for response that how to use discussion. Students are able to think creatively , so they must to evidence in how well they constantly succeed in getting out of trouble.

Secondly, first step to important critical thinking is to understand in each works of the mind. So educators Frank Lyman, Arlene Mindus and Charlene Lopez identified the mind's actions. That they using a system called Thinktrix in 1979 , which thinktrix compose of seven fundamental thinking processes. As seven mind actions that explain the ways students think all the time. In seven of critical thinking, there are recalling facts, identifying similarities, recognising differences, establishing cause and effect, making generalisations, giving examples to substantiate/explain an idea, and providing value judgments/evaluating.

......I think education is very useful and needful to use in present. One type of education is opening the mind that it is important. Opening the mind are creativity and critical thinking that can help you about ideas and opinions. Creativity will make you try to use your idea and brainstorm. You can apply with education. Critical thinking will help you about exchange ideas. Then you get new ideas and view points. On the other hand, if you do not understand or do not agree with something , that you can ask.

World Cup 2010

....The 2010 FIFA World Cup was the 19th FIFA World Cup, the world championship for international association football teams. So it has every four years.Spain won the tournament, which took place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010. The matches were played in ten stadium in nine host cities around the country and the final match played at the stadium in South Africa's largest city.Which is Johannesburg. These sixteen teams advanced to the knockout stage, where three rounds of play decided which teams would participate in the final match. So In the final match, Spain is the European champions and win the Netherlands(Holland) 1–0 in extra time , from Andrés Iniesta's goal in the 116th minute give Spain is winner in world cup 2010.

....I think FIFA world cup 2010 is very important for many people. That they wait to watch FIFA world cup, because it has one time in every four years. FIFA world cup is good, it can make people to join to cheer. they have celebration in each country ,and they feel happy when their country win in the match. So it is great activity. But in Thailand somebody uses in a bad way is gamble. In my opinion of FIFA world cup, there is a good chance as it can make to better economy.
